About Better Made Construction Cabinets

Our custom cabinetry is made at 1328 Burton Avenue, Suite A10 in Salinas. Design, cutting, assembly and finishing all happen in the same building, and the crew that builds your cabinets is the crew that delivers and installs them.

Keeping design, building, finishing and installation under one roof means one team is accountable for the result from the first drawing to the final adjustment, and one number to call if anything needs attention after the install.

Finishing in-house is part of the same approach. Multi-step finishes are applied in a controlled shop environment rather than in a customer's house, which gives an even film without dust in it, and means your kitchen is not out of use while a finish cures.

For projects where budget leads, we also offer factory-built cabinets, held to the same standard of quality and fit as our custom work.

Most of our work is residential: kitchens, closets, bathroom vanities, laundry rooms and built-in entertainment centers for families across the Monterey Peninsula, the Central Coast and the South Bay. Recent projects range from a full white oak kitchen in Monterey to walk-in closet systems in Scotts Valley and painted shaker kitchens in Gilroy and Soquel.

We also build for businesses: reception desks, retail display fixtures, breakroom cabinets and restaurant fit-outs, with finishes and hardware rated for constant daily use.

Custom cabinetry is a considered purchase, and the people who quote it are not always the people who build it. In a two-generation family shop they are. Brayan is involved in the projects that carry his father's name on them, which is a different kind of accountability from a franchise operating to a regional target.

It also means the standards do not drift. The construction we used twenty years ago, dovetail drawer boxes in premium plywood and solid hardwood face frames, is the construction we use now, because it is what the shop has always built and what it knows holds up.
