our services
A custom closet is built to your room and to what you actually keep in it. We design, build and install walk-in closets, reach-in closets and built-in wardrobes across Salinas, Monterey, Carmel and the Central Coast. Shelf heights, drawer depths and hanging space are set to your clothes, not to a standard size.
Hanging space at two heights, drawers, shoe shelving and a center island where the room allows. We plan it around what you own: how much hangs, how much folds and how many pairs of shoes.
The hallway and spare-bedroom closets are where most homes lose the most storage. A single rod with a shelf above wastes the whole bottom half. Split the same opening into two hanging levels, a shelf tower and drawers behind the door, and it holds close to double.
For bedrooms with no closet at all: wardrobes built into the wall, matched to your existing trim and finished like furniture.
Paint grade maple for painted closets, white oak and walnut for stained, built the same way as our kitchen work with dovetail drawer boxes and soft-close hardware throughout.
A light-colored interior finish makes it easier to find things, wipes clean and will not mark clothes. Shelf edges are sealed so they do not snag knitwear.
The fittings are what make a closet worth having. We plan them at the design stage, around what you tell us you own.
Two rods stacked for shirts and jackets, which roughly doubles what a single rod holds.
Full-height space for dresses, coats and garment bags, so nothing drags on the floor.
Soft-close drawers, with shallow trays for jewellery and deeper ones for knitwear.
Set to your tallest pair, with adjustable spacing for boots.
Valet rods, belt and tie racks, and hampers hidden behind doors.
Where the room allows, a center island adds a folding surface over drawers.
LED strips under shelves and along the rods, so you can see what color something is.
Full-length mirrors and a bench seat where the floor space allows.
The big closet companies install a kit sized to the nearest standard unit. We build to your actual opening. That matters most in older Monterey Peninsula homes, where almost nothing is square.
Free in-home measurement, a layout drawing to approve, then your choice of material and finish. Most closet projects take 6 to 8 weeks from signing, with one to two days on site to install.
Recent work includes walk-in closets in Scotts Valley, a painted built-in wardrobe in Soledad and a white oak pantry in Monterey with pull-out shelves and a built-in wine fridge.
