Known as "European" style, this frameless design features a consistent 1/8" gap around all doors and drawers, creating a clean, modern look perfect for today’s kitchens and living spaces.
With no frame across the front, you get the full width of the cabinet for storage and the flush, uninterrupted look most modern kitchens are after.
Modern kitchens, flat or slim shaker doors, and any layout where you want the most storage possible. It also suits small kitchens: the width you get back on every cabinet adds up, and the unbroken line of doors makes the room look bigger than it measures.
On a framed cabinet, the frame narrows the opening on both sides, so the drawer inside has to be smaller than the cabinet. Frameless removes that, and the drawer runs almost the full width. You notice it most on wide base cabinets and pull-out pantries.
A face frame hides small errors. Frameless has nothing to hide behind: the gap between doors is the same eighth of an inch everywhere, so any inaccuracy shows up straight away as an uneven line. Boxes have to be square and stay square, and the install has to be fitted properly to walls that are rarely straight. Doors do drift over the years, and a good hinge brings one back into line in a couple of minutes with a screwdriver.
