Custom Kitchen Cabinets in Salinas, CA

White oak flat panel kitchen

We build custom kitchen cabinets to order in our Salinas shop, sized to your room, with no filler strips, no dead corners and storage planned around how you cook. Choose frameless, full overlay or inset construction.

Factory-built kitchen cabinets are also available for budget-led projects, held to the same standard of quality and fit.

01

Cabinet Materials

White oak is the most requested cabinet wood we build with right now. It stains evenly and suits traditional and modern kitchens alike. Walnut is darker and richer, maple is pale and even, and cherry gets darker over the years. For a painted kitchen, paint grade maple is the sensible choice.

Whatever wood you pick for the doors, drawer boxes are premium plywood with dovetail corners, because plywood stays flat where solid wood can warp.

02

Construction Types We Build

Our custom cabinets are built one of three ways. Which one suits you comes down to the look you want and your budget.

03

Storage and Feature Options

Soft-close hinges and drawer slides throughout, with the inside fittings planned before we build rather than added later.

Pull-outs

Pull-out shelves, spice racks, hidden trash bins and corner pull-outs.

Corner storage

Lazy susans and swing-outs that use the full depth of a corner cabinet.

Drawer organizers

Fitted cutlery dividers, baking sheet dividers and pull-out trays.

Specialty

Sliding pocket doors, mixer lifts and floating shelves.

04

Planning the Layout

We plan around how you actually cook: counter space either side of the range, a clear path between sink, refrigerator and cooktop, and storage placed where you use it. Deep drawers near the range for pots, shallow ones by the prep area for utensils.

Two things waste more kitchen storage than anything else: corner cabinets you cannot reach into, and the strips of plain wood used to make stock cabinets fit a wall they were never sized for. Building to your measurements removes the filler strips, and corners get a swing-out or a lazy susan. On a typical kitchen that is several feet of storage back.

05

Islands and Seating

An island only works if you can get around it. We check the walkway on every side and make sure the dishwasher and oven doors open fully without blocking the way through. Overhangs are sized to the stools you want, and if the island takes a sink or cooktop we plan the plumbing and wiring in before the build.

06

Appliances

Appliances decide more of the layout than most people expect, and they are the one thing that cannot be adjusted on site. We take the actual model numbers at the design stage, because a thirty inch range is rarely exactly thirty inches and the difference shows up as a gap. If your refrigerator or dishwasher takes a matching front panel, we build that from the same wood and finish so it disappears into the run.

07

Finishes and Color

Finishing is done in our own shop, not in your house, which gives an even, hard-wearing surface with no dust in it and keeps your kitchen usable while it cures. Two-tone kitchens are common in our recent work, usually a painted perimeter with a stained island.

08

Our Design to Install Process

Five steps on every project: we design with you, build, finish, deliver and install with our own crew. One team, start to finish. Most kitchens take 6 to 8 weeks from signing to installed.
